Damien was previously a physiotherapist in France for 15 years before moving to Canada with his family in 2016. Meeting and helping people have always been a passion for him. Damien had the chance to work with patients from just a few weeks to a hundred years old and he still remains fascinated by the body and moreover by the encounter with the patients with their history and background.
Professional Training And Experience
After completing his degree in physiotherapy in France in 2000 Damien has attended numerous seminars and training courses to improve his skills and his understanding of the body.
In 2007, Damien was first introduced to osteopathy and that experience had a significant impact on his professional career. After 4 years of study at the Institut de Formation Supérieure en Ostéopathie (IFSO) in Rennes (France), Damien graduated to become an Osteopath DO (Osteopathic Practitioner in BC).
Damien had his own osteopathy practice clinic and worked in different physiotherapy clinics in France before joining Cedar.
Treatment Approach
In osteopathy, the therapist considers your body as a whole, comprised of several systems which interact with one another. Damien believes that combining physiotherapy and osteopathy better restores body functions and as a result helps reduce pain and recover balance and harmony.
Using a variety of techniques from Fascial Integration Therapy (F.I.T.) to structural joint adjustments via visceral manipulation, we can remove barriers throughout the body. Therefore, you can access a higher level of health and return to your sport or your daily activities.
The addition of physiotherapy and active rehabilitation are key to help prevent the reoccurrence of injury.
As part of your team at Cedar Chiropractic & Physiotherapy, Damien looks forward to learning from and collaborating with the other team members.
As Damien is from France and a member of RésoSanté, he can provide services in both English and French.
Personal
To balance his professional career, Damien particularly enjoys spending time with his wife and his 3 teenagers as well as hiking, running or mountain biking the North Shore trails, backcountry skiing or cooking for his family and friends.

Her fascination with working with the human body came through interactions with her sport team’s physiotherapist. Noticing that it aligned with her goals of helping those around her while pertaining to her passion in the field of sports, meshed with her desire to help her grandfather who had stroke, compelled her to undertake the study of kinesiology in hopes to help individuals regain and strengthen their movements and to cherish their own body.

Working with different conditions, Michelle likes to look at the body as a whole. A framework comprising various systems that are all interconnected. Her technique encompasses analyzing posture, gait and functional movements of the body to identify any imbalances that may be causing some dysfunctions and pain. She teaches her clients how to take an active role in their health and healing, to learn from and to care for their body. Her approach to treatments is a combination of active rehabilitation, patient education and health coaching. As a kinesiologist that believes in holistic health, Michelle is looking forward to collaborating with other practitioners to deliver the best care for her clients.

Michelle utilizes her knowledge in anatomy, physiology, and movement assessments along with her personal experiences in getting athletes to improve their functional capabilities.
Personal
Outside of the clinic, you can find her spending her free time volunteering at the Red Cross or at a neighbourhood house. However, if there’s anything you can find Michelle doing that occupies her weeks, eight out of ten times, you’d find her days filled with various sports. Some of the activities that you can find her participating in are netball, volleyball, ultimate frisbee, spike ball, tennis, dance lift, and perhaps some acroyoga. Being quite the active individual, there’s also a creative side to her where she enjoys spending time creating art. Whether that be drawing and turning them into stickers and/or cards, she one day hopes to expand it into a small side hustle

Amber has practiced as a chiropractor since 2015. She first started seeing a chiropractor when she was 16 due to knee pain she was having while figure skating. She had tried massage and physiotherapy but nothing was helping. After seeing her chiropractor for a few visits her knee pain went away but also the daily headaches she had been suffering from also went away.
While chiropractic was not the first profession she pursued after graduating high school, she eventually found her way and wanted to provide the same care and relief to others who were suffering like she was. Amber loved caring for patients of all ages and has a special love for little ones and pregnant mommas. She also loves working with athletes of all ages and abilities.
Training and Education
While she was at chiropractic school, she did an advanced certificate in extremity management, meaning additional training in care of feet, knees, shoulders, elbows, and wrists. She also attended many seminars in caring for the pediatric population, and became basic certified in the Activator Technique in her third quarter of school.
Coming Home
After graduating, Amber practiced in Edmonton until the ocean and family called her home. She practiced in Nanaimo before moving to the big city in May 2021. Being in the city provides increased opportunities to serve in her community, but also importantly brings her closer to family that live in the area.
While not at work you can find Amber in nature hiking, trail running, or mountain biking, or she may be found on her couch engrossed in a new book!
